The Board of Trustees of The King’s Trust Group Company is independent from each of the other King’s Trust charities and is solely responsible for the planning, strategy and governance of The King’s Trust Group Company.
The role of The King’s Trust Group Company is to support the other King’s Trust charities and to encourage a common sense of purpose and strategy across the Group through sharing best practice, raising essential funds to support our work, demonstrating our shared impact and managing shared risks.
The King’s Trust Group Company is a company limited by guarantee (Company Number 14142157) and a registered charity (Charity Number 1200643).
The King’s Trust Group Company is the sole Member (or equivalent) of King’s Trust International, The King’s Trust USA, The King’s Trust Canada, The King’s Trust Aotearoa New Zealand and The King’s Trust Australia.
The King’s Trust Group Company is an additional Member of The King’s Trust, alongside each of the existing Trustees.
Alison Brittain CBE

As Chair of The King’s Trust Group since 2022, Alison and her fellow Trustees support The King’s Trust Group of charities around the world. Between 2016 and 2023, Alison was the Deputy Chair and a Trustee of The King’s Trust in the UK.
Alison is currently the Chair of English football’s Premier League and the Chair of Dunelm Group plc, the UKs largest home-retailing business. Alison is also the Senior Independent Director at Experian plc and a Non-Executive Director at British Airways plc.
Previously, Alison was the Chief Executive Officer of Whitbread PLC, the oldest and largest hospitality company in the UK and prior to that Alison had a long career in banking, holding senior and Board level roles in Lloyds Bank, Santander UK PLC and Barclays Bank. Alison has served as a Non-Executive Director for Marks & Spencer Group plc, has been a member of the Advisory Boards for three Prime Ministers, and is a former Chair of The Financial Conduct Authority Practitioner Panel.
Alison has been awarded a CBE for services to business and has an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Stirling. She has an MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School, where she is now a member of the Advisory Board.

Julie is Chancellor of the Australian National University, and the United Nations Secretary General‘s Special Envoy on Myanmar.
Julie served as Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2013 until 2018. She was the first female to hold the role as well as the first female Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, serving for 11 years. In a political career spanning over 20 years, Julie also served as Minister for Education, Science and Training, Minister for Women’s Issues and Minister for Ageing. Prior to entering politics, Julie was Managing Partner of the National law firm Clayton Utz in Perth.
Julie is a Member of the International Advisory Board of Council on Foreign Relations. She has also established a boutique consultancy, Julie Bishop and Partners, offering strategic advisory services.

Mark is the Vice Chairman at the Royal Bank of Canada, responsible for delivering senior executive coverage to RBC’s Enterprise Strategic Clients. He works with complex families and their businesses providing guidance and solutions to them globally.
Mark holds a law degree from the University of Oxford (MA, Oxon), a BA (Hons) from Queen’s University and an ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors at the University of Toronto Rotman School of Business.

Jeremy is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of Redmile Group, LLC, an investment firm that focuses on the health care sector. He has invested in life science companies for over 25 years. Prior to founding Redmile in 2007, he worked at Andor Capital, Salomon Brothers and SBC Warburg.
Jeremy is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Health Innovators Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. He currently sits on the board of directors of EDH. He has previously served on the boards of One Medical (ONEM) and Alder BioPharmaceuticals (ALDR), the UK Government’s Life Sciences Scale-up Task Force and has taught at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
In 2024 Jeremy was appointed as a CBE for services to Business, Philanthropy and support to The King’s Trust. He holds a Master’s Degree (biological sciences) from Oxford University.

Tom is an educational philanthropist and technology entrepreneur. He is a Non-Executive Director of FTSE 100 company WPP plc, the global advertising group. Previously he was on the Board of the BBC and was Chair of The Rugby Football Union (RFU). Tom is an Honorary Fellow of both Jesus College, Oxford and St Anne’s College, Oxford.
Tom has been involved in launching several tech companies and a number of schools. He is Chair of the British education charity, the African Gifted Foundation and launched the African Science Academy (ASA). Tom was the Founding Chair of Hammersmith Academy and the Chair of ADA College, the UK’s National College for Digital Skills. In 2017, Tom was named Britain’s most influential Black person.
Tom was appointed a CBE in 2018 for services to Technology and Philanthropy and has been awarded Honorary Doctorates by several universities.
Shabir Randeree CBE

Shabir is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and Chairman of DCD Group with a background in Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Venture Capital and Banking. He was the interim Chairman, Deputy of Al Baraka Bank South Africa for two decades, the former Chairman of EIIB Bank plc and Founder Director at Islamic Bank plc. Shabir is currently a Director of the British Muslim Trust and a Trustee of Windsor Leadership.
His recent roles include Chair of the Woolf Institute Cambridge, Chancellor of the University of East London (2016-23) and Chair of Governors of the Westminster Academy (2012-22). Shabir also served on the Government’s Asia Task Force, Islamic Finance and Ethnic Minority Business Task Force.
Shabir graduated from Kingston University and has an MBA from Schiller. He is also an alumni of London Business School and Centenary Fellow of St Edmund’s College, Cambridge. Shabir was awarded Honorary Doctorates at Kingston University and the University of Warwick.
In 2013, Shabir was awarded a CBE in recognition of his services to business, education and philanthropy.

Andrew is the Co-Chairman of Alvarium, a global multi-family office, co-investment partner and merchant banking boutique providing tailored solutions for families, foundations and institutions across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Andrew directs Alvarium’s real estate investment strategies and oversees all of its real estate investments.
